Easy method to save your submerged phone in water.




Got your phone submerged in water? Cry no more.
Submerging your phone in water isn't the end of it. You can
actually save your phone by yourself. Do not hesitate, follow
these steps below:


Step 1
Get your cell phone out of the water and remove the
battery immediately. This reduces the risk of a short
circuit.


Step 2
Remove the cell phone's SIM card quickly, as well, if
you have an older model cell phone where the SIM card
is easily accessible. If you cannot get the SIM card out
quickly, skip this step.


Step 3
Dry your phone and removed parts with an absorbent
cloth. Be careful not to damage any internal
components, just gently pat everything dry.


Step 4
Blast your cell phone, battery and SIM card with a can
of compressed air to remove any remaining water the
cloth did not absorb.





Step 5
Fill a large bowl or plastic bag full of white rice.


Step 6
Submerge the cell phone, battery and SIM card (if
removed) into the rice until completely covered.


Step 7
Leave the cell phone, battery and SIM card in the
rice overnight, but preferably for 24 to 36 hours.

Step 8
Remove the cell phone and its parts from the rice
after the allotted time period.


Step 9
Blast the rice dust off of each part with the can of
compressed air.

Step 10
Reassemble your cell phone and turn it on to see if it
is working.


You can also try another method using silica gel (that which is contained in a small bag when you get a new stuff like shoe).


Silica gel is a desiccant which means that it is hygroscopic (readily taking up and retaining water).
You can use lots to save your device.
So try keeping those bags whenever you go shopping just in case.

While Nintendo's second ever mobile effort, the absurdly popular Pokémon Go, has already won a legion of fans and sent the company's shares through the roof, a lot of people out there will be scratching their heads and thinking "What on Earth is this Pokémon Go thing all about?" Dive in as a long-time gamer takes the plunge and boots up the hottest mobile game of the year.




The premise here is simple. Using your smartphone's camera, the game projects animated critters into your immediate surroundings, letting you capture and battle them. You can also visit real world locations to gather items, as well as team up with and compete with other players.
On paper, it's a clear attempt to take the core Pokémon concept – capturing and fighting little monsters – and take it into the real world with a touch of augmented reality. For fans, that seems like a dream come true, but what's it actually like to play?

When you first boot up the app, you create your character from a limited set of aesthetic options, and are then immediately tasked with picking your "starter" pokemon, just as you would in a standard franchise entry.
Then, your chosen animal pops up on the screen, AR-style, and an upward swipe on the display sends a pokéball (which is a sort of super-high tech, spherical animal cage) flying forward, and within moments … congratulations, you've captured your very first Pokémon!


That action is extremely simple – literally a single gesture – but it's also quite satisfying, at least at first. From our experience with that app, that's
Pokémon Go in a nutshell: It's kind of fun, and a little addictive, but there's not a whole lot of depth on offer.



Having bagged our first Pokémon, the next thing we did was wander down the road to the nearest Pokéstop, which are useful locations tied to real-world landmarks, in this case a local sculpture. When you get close enough, you can spin an icon that pops up on the screen, and are rewarded with a selection of new items, free of charge.




While I hadn't encountered any wild Pokémon during my walk to the Pokéstop, I had a little more luck on the return journey. Strolling along, a vibration alert told me a creature was close by. After a tap on the screen, the Pokémon – a Pidgey – sat there in front of me, ready for catching. After a first missed attempt at flicking the pokéball towards the little guy, my second shot hit its target, and within moments another pokemon was mine.
Tapping around the UI and then closing the app with nothing left to do, my opinion of the experience sat somewhere between enthusiasm and apathy. Catching the Pokémon was in no way a challenge, and the whole thing is over in a matter of moments, but the novelty of seeing it right there in my world, like I'd actually happened upon it in the wild, was undeniably satisfying.

Samsung Galaxy S7 vs HTC 10 comparison.



The early part of 2016 saw the triumphant arrival of Samsung and HTC's newest phones, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and HTC 10. Though the two devices have enough similarities, and many tech insiders view the HTC device as a worthy opponent of Samsung's latest flagship phone, it remains to be seen whether the HTC 10 can hold its own when compared to one of the best-selling smartphones in the United States.


This article compares the Samsung Galaxy S7 to the HTC 10:


Design
The Galaxy S7 measures 5.61 x 2.74 x 0.31 inches and weighs 5.36 ounces. Though it looks a lot like its predecessor, the Galaxy S6, Samsung has done away with the metallic rim around the physical home key, and this has given the smartphone a cleaner look. It has an IP 68 certification, meaning the device is protected from dust and accidental water splashes. The device is available in Black, Gray, White, and Gold.
Meanwhile, the HTC 10 measures 5.74 x 2.83 x 0.35 inches and weighs 5.68 ounces. It has a glass and metal body and has an IP 53 certification, which means that the phone is only dust resistant. The phone comes in Black, Gray, and Gold.


Display
When it comes to screen size, the HTC device has a slight advantage over the Samsung phone as the HTC 10 has a 5.2-inch Super LCD 5 screen, while the Galaxy S7's Super AMOLED display measures 5.1 inches. Both have a resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels.


Camera
In the camera department, the HTC 10 wins as it has a 12-megapixel rear camera with features such as dual-LED flash, RAW image capture, face detection, self-timer, and more. It also has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with an optical image stabilization feature. The Samsung phone has a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front shooter as well.


Processor and Storage
The HTC 10 is powered by the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 4 GB of random access memory (RAM) and built-in storage of 64 GB, which can be expanded with a microSD card. The Samsung Galaxy S7 has the Samsung Exynos 8890 octa-core chip, 4 GB RAM and internal memory of 32 GB, which is expandable through a microSD card slot.

Interesting rumors about the Samsung Galaxy Note 7


As Samsung prepares to announce the Galaxy Note 7 on August 2nd , rumors have been swirling around the new features the smartphone maker may pack into its latest device. As usual, rumors are to be taken with a grain of salt, these are the most probable ones we've seen so far.



The Galaxy Note 7 is expected to come with a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display and feature the same dual-edge design that Samsung has on the Galaxy S7 Edge. Rumors are also pointing toward the device coming with 6GB of RAM, a 12MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, and running on a Snapdragon 820 (or possibly 821) in the US, and on Samsung's Exynos 8890 SoC internationally.





According to the rumors , Samsung's latest smartphone will be water-resistant, gain a bigger battery — possibly up to 4,000mAh — and a base model that will ship with 64GB of internal storage, which would be a nice bump up from the Galaxy Note 5 (take notes, Apple). Rumors also point to the Galaxy Note 7 having a USB-C port, and coming in black, silver, and blue.
Nothing about those rumored specs are too outlandish, and should be expected in what is routinely Samsung's most powerful device. The biggest rumor so far has been the iris scanner, which would allow you to unlock your Galaxy Note 7 and possibly authenticate apps by simply looking at the camera. Samsung has filed for a patent for an iris recognition system, and shots of the UI for the potential iris scanner popped up on Weibo a few days ago, giving the rumor a bit more credibility.
If the rumors and reports are true, Samsung's work on the Galaxy Note 7 should be enough to get fans excited about the new smartphone. More rumors will likely pop up in the coming days, with just over two weeks left before Samsung takes the wraps off its newest smartphone. We won't have to wait too long to find out what's real and what isn't.
